Ming Xu is a Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, Shanghai Maritime University. Ming Xu received his PhD of Computer Science from Fudan University in 2010. He served as a Visiting Scholar at Drexel University in the United States from December 2007 to December 2009. He is sponsored to work at Shanghai Shipbuilding Technology Research Institute (The 11th Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation) for Industry-University-Research collaboration from February 2012 to January 2013. His main research interests include peer-to-peer networks, underwater acoustic sensor networks, computational intelligence theory and method. He has published 25 papers in Journal of Network and Systems Management, Journal of the Network and Computer Applications, Journal of Systems and Software, Computer Communication and other well-known journals and conferences. He is currently serves as a committee member of the Open Systems Professional Committee of China Computer Federation. He is sponsored by the following funds: National Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Pujiang Program, Open Project of Shanghai Intelligent Information Processing Key Laboratory, Shanghai Maritime University Research Project. He won the 2011 Annual Scientific Research of the Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Award (Science and Technology Progress Award) and the 1st prize of Teaching Competition at College of Information Engineering, Shanghai Maritime University in 2011.
